Christogram IHS pendant necklace. Hand crafted in sterling silver, this pendant is hammered on the edges and hangs for a hammered sterling ring. The chain is a boxy cable chain and is also sterling silver. The entire piece has been oxidized for a vintage feel.
This Christogram is an abbreviation of the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. In early centuries of the church, writers would contract the Holy Name by using the first two or first and last letters. Iota and Eta are the first two letters of the name Jesus in Greek. The third letter Sigma was also added.
This necklace is approximately 20 inches long. The pendant is approximately a .5 inch square.
